Welded rear valance.

I welded on the rear valance today and trimmed down the rear bumper brackets. I will have to weld them in tomorrow when it stops raining.

More sanding and grinding.

A little more sanding today. Passenger door jamb is completely stripped. Ashley got about half of the roof to metal.

Little more sanding.

We got a little more stripping and sanding done this afternoon.  Also, here is the damage on the driver's side door.

Passenger quarter filler started.

I got started on filling the passenger side quarter this afternoon. I will probably have to put Ashley on block sanding duty, as my carpal has been killing me lately. I also went and got some blasting sand and did some blasting on the driver side door jamb. It makes quick work of the tough to sand areas, but what a mess. I will need to rig something up with my shop vac to collect it (and reuse it).

Look what FedEx brought me today!

Also, I got the new bushings in the leaf springs and got it back on all 4 tires. I also took the front end back off to get it ready for paint stripping.

Doors, 2 steps forward, 1 back...

Well, I got the rest of the interior stripped out this afternoon, and stripped down the doors. When I removed the door seals, I found an issue. The seals on the bottom and front of both doors was holding the metal together. When I pulled the seals off, so came off a pile of rusted metal. So, I will need to take the doors off and see if I can cut away all the rust and fab up some replacement steel. Oh well, better get to it...

Filler time.

I started stripping the paint and applying the body filler today. A few more days of this mess, then it will be time for some primer and paint.

Test fitting

I started mocking up the headrests this morning. I got the driver side mounted, but the 50 year old screws kept snapping off. Time to go get some new stainless steel screws. They look like they will work, so time to take them off and dye them black.

Update

Not much to report on yet. I have been very busy with the house this week, but thought I would show these off. I found them on Craigslist in Utica. It was either dye my existing seats black (since I am changing my interior to black) or get some new seats. That is a super rare bench seat for a 67 with fold down arm rest with matching rear seat. There is a tear in the seat on the driver side that I will patch, otherwise they are in perfect shape.
