Back Story...

I have always loved the classic mustangs. Growing up, I remember seeing a picture of a white 67 convertible that my parents had before I was born. I had been told that it was in pretty bad shape underneath at the time, but it looked awesome in the pictures. FYI, they traded it in when I was born for a black van with shag carpet...ahh the 70s.
Fast forward 35 years and when I finally had a garage of my own, it was time to get rolling with the dream. After scouring the internet, I came across a white 67 coupe in PA that was cheap enough that I could do whatever I wanted to it. I called up my wife Ashley (who was going to school at the time) and said I was picking her up after she was done, so we, with the kids, made the 3.5 hour trek south to have a look.
When we arrived, I knew right away it would be perfect. There was some of the expected rust in the trunk area, around the rear wheel wells and lower door, but the floor already had a new pan, and the front end and subframes looked great. It had the 289 (2 barrel only) and the c-4 auto, which would be fine for now, unitl I decided what power plant was going to go in up front. I paid for it on the spot, I drove back down the following day with my brother in law to tow it back home.
And so the journey begins...
