Interior Dye

Ashley worked on dying the interior today. She got the dash, visors, pillars and door panels all dyed black.

Exhausted.

Got the headers installed today. I also laid out the exhaust to make sure I had everything. Pretty..

Blast cabinet.

Picked up a blast cabinet and built a homemade water dust filter.

Back to mechanics.

After working on the body work all summer, it was nice to get back to the mechanics this afternoon. I took my reciprocating saw and extracted the old exhaust system. I couldn't believe how easy my manifold bolts came out for being in there almost 50 years.

Now that the old rusty bits are out, I have room for these stainless steel beauties.

2k primer on!

I got the car final primed this morning. Now I can move onto the other body panels.

Some seam sealer and a little glazing.

Got the seam sealer all on today. I also hit the 4 areas (where the original lead filler was) where there were some deeper scratches with some glazing putty to smooth them out.

EPOXY PRIMER YAY!!

We finished the sanding and prep today. Cleaned the garage and car. And then I got to shoot the epoxy primer. I will let this cure for a day, then will shoot the high build primer later this week. The body work is starting to look pretty impressive now that it is getting an even layer of color on it.
